Anello vs Trading on Hyperliquid Directly

Anello is a frontend on Hyperliquid, not a rival exchange. What it adds over Hyperliquid's own app, what it costs, and when the native app suits you.

Checked on October 25, 2026, against Hyperliquid’s documentation and Anello’s own docs and code. Hyperliquid ships often, so details may change.

Anello is a frontend on Hyperliquid, not a separate exchange. Whichever app you use, these stay the same:

  • Same order book. Every Anello order is a Hyperliquid order, matched on Hyperliquid’s book.
  • Same account. You connect the same wallet, and funds stay in your Hyperliquid account.
  • Same fills and venue fees. Fills settle on Hyperliquid at your wallet’s fee tier, and they show up in both apps.

The rest of this page covers where the two differ, so you can pick the one that fits how you trade.

Automation

Hyperliquid app

Hyperliquid’s app has a broad set of order types: market, limit, stop and take orders, scale orders that place a ladder of limits across a range, chase orders that re-price toward the best bid or ask, trailing stops on perps, and TWAP orders that split a large order into slices over 5 minutes to 7 days. Its docs describe no grid bot and no scheduled DCA. A scale ladder is placed once. Filled rungs are not replaced, and chase orders run only in the browser tab that created them.

Anello

Anello runs grid bots and scheduled DCA on Hyperliquid spot markets. A grid places buys below the price and sells above it with geometric spacing, then places a replacement order each time one fills. DCA buys a fixed USD amount every N days, weeks, or months. Both run on Anello’s servers, so they keep trading when your laptop is closed. Grid and DCA are spot only. The terminal still trades spot and perps manually, with market, limit, stop, scale, and TWAP orders (TWAP up to 24 hours on Anello).

Fees

Hyperliquid app

Trading on Hyperliquid’s app costs only Hyperliquid’s fee. At the base tier that is 0.045% taker and 0.015% maker on perps, and 0.070% taker and 0.040% maker on spot. Tiers improve with 14-day volume, and staking HYPE gives a discount of 5% to 40%. There is no builder fee on top.

Anello

Anello earns through Hyperliquid’s builder codes, a fee a frontend attaches to the fills it sends. You pay Hyperliquid’s fee plus:

  • Spot sells: 0.02%. Spot buys carry no Anello fee, because Hyperliquid doesn’t apply builder fees to the buying side of spot trades.
  • Perps (terminal): 0.01% per fill.
  • DCA: no Anello fee, since DCA only buys.

The approval you sign sets a cap of 0.1%, which is Hyperliquid’s maximum for perps. Anello charges the rates above. A grid round trip at a 0.04% maker rate costs about 0.10% in total: 0.08% to Hyperliquid and 0.02% to Anello. The full math is in fees and risks.

Previews and backtesting

Hyperliquid app

Hyperliquid’s docs describe no backtesting tool and no strategy preview. Orders are entered and sent one at a time, or as a single scale or TWAP order.

Anello

Before a grid launches, Anello shows every rung’s exact price and size after Hyperliquid’s rounding, and those are exactly the orders the bot places. For DCA, the preview shows the whole plan: the amount of each buy, when each one runs, the total, and the USDC it needs. You can also backtest the same settings over the last 7, 30, 90, or 180 days of Hyperliquid prices, with fees, and see total P&L, fills, fees paid, max drawdown, and a buy-and-hold comparison. A backtest shows the past, not a forecast. Grid and DCA setups can be shared as links that open with the same settings filled in.

Notifications

Hyperliquid app

Hyperliquid’s docs don’t describe alerts by Telegram, Discord, or email.

Anello

Anello sends bot events to Telegram, Discord, and email: fills, bots starting and stopping, DCA purchases, and a warning before an agent wallet expires. You choose which events go where. Email carries only the alerts that need action.

Market names and pictures

Hyperliquid app

Hyperliquid identifies markets by their onchain names. Builder-deployed (HIP-3) perps live on separate DEXes, each run by its deployer, and their names carry the DEX as a prefix, in the form dex:ASSET.

Anello

Anello lists the same markets, with a reviewed label on each: a plain name, a class (crypto, stock, ETF or fund, index, commodity, and more), what it tracks, and a picture. The picker sorts by 24-hour volume and opens on a curated list of markets that have traded at least $1M in a day, with all markets one tab away.

Custody and keys

Hyperliquid app

You connect your wallet and sign an “Enable Trading” message, and your funds stay on Hyperliquid. Vaults, including HLP, and HYPE staking are in the native app, along with new features as soon as Hyperliquid ships them.

Anello

Funds also stay in your Hyperliquid account. Each bot, and the terminal, signs with its own agent wallet that your wallet approves on Hyperliquid. An agent can place and cancel orders. It cannot withdraw, transfer, or change account settings, and approvals last up to 180 days. Withdrawals and transfers are signed by your own wallet. Anello does not offer vault deposits.

Nothing in this article is financial advice. Automated strategies can lose money, and a bot follows its settings whether or not the market does.

Frequently asked questions

Is Anello safe to connect to Hyperliquid?
Anello never holds your funds. They stay in your own Hyperliquid account. Orders are signed by agent wallets that your wallet approves on Hyperliquid. An agent can place and cancel orders but cannot withdraw or transfer funds, and you can revoke it at any time, on Hyperliquid or from Anello's agents page. Trading itself still carries market risk.
Does Anello cost more than Hyperliquid?
Yes, on some fills. You pay Hyperliquid's normal trading fee either way. Anello adds a builder fee of 0.02% on spot sell fills and 0.01% on perp fills. Spot buys and DCA purchases carry no Anello fee. Trading on Hyperliquid's own app has no builder fee at all.
Do I need to move my funds to use Anello?
No. Connect the same wallet you use on Hyperliquid and Anello trades the balances already in that account. There is no Anello deposit and nothing to bridge.
Does Hyperliquid have a built-in grid bot or DCA bot?
Hyperliquid's documentation, as checked on October 25, 2026, describes TWAP, scale, chase, and trailing stop orders, but no grid bot or scheduled DCA. Scale orders place a ladder once. They do not replace filled orders the way a running grid does.
Can I use Anello and Hyperliquid's app at the same time?
Yes. They are two windows onto the same account. Orders a bot places on Anello appear in Hyperliquid's app, and you can keep using vaults, staking, or perps tools there.
